She will stop at nothing until she makes all of those walls come crashing down.

I’m always up for a good MC read so of course I had to read this book and I wasn’t disappointed. I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning because I just couldn’t put it down. The bit of humor that Henley and Maverick share at times and their blossoming romance really sets off the darker sides so it’s a nicely balanced story.
At first glance it might appear that Maverick and Henley are all wrong for each other. Maverick is the new Sargent at Arms and very series. He never smiles and has a lot of bad history that keeps his mind locked in the past all of the time. Henley is bright, has a smile for everyone (even if she mad), loves to play practical jokes, is a total geek (i.e. video games and vintage t-shirts), and is totally loveable by anyone she meets. She’s all about seeing the brighter side of things which Maverick has never been able to grasp (despite being brought by a woman with the same attitude). However, these two actually compliment each other very nicely. I think Maverick grounds Henley when she needs it and Henley definitely brings a whole lot of brightness to Maverick’s world.
This was a fantastic read and I really hope there’s more to come from this MC because I seriously couldn’t get enough. The story flowed well and the characters were well rounded and easy to like. Don’t forget those steamier parts of the story because they sure are hot! This is a definite must read. 5 out of 5 palm trees!

Writing the Devil Chaser’s MC Romance series has been a long time dream of mine, and it is still hard to believe that I actually did it.
