Tour: Love on the Line by Pamela Aares

Synopsis

Hiding her identity was a small price to pay for freedom… Heiress Cara Barrington fled the opulent world of her rich and famous family to carve out an idyllic existence on the California Coast. In the sleepy town of Albion Bay, she’s embraced the simple way of living she’s always craved. No one knows her identity, and she’s free from the pressures of wealth…until her sexy new neighbor threatens the unpretentious world she’s worked so hard to build. All-Star athlete Ryan Rea enjoys his high-profile status. He’s used to charming his way into the heart and bed of any woman he desires while keeping his own heart secure behind a steel wall. When he meets Cara, she throws him a curveball—she’s unlike any woman he’s ever met, and he has to have her. Cara’s growing attraction to Ryan endangers her hard-won anonymity, and when she inherits the family business, she must choose between the world she left behind and her new life in the community she’s come to cherish. But facing up to her responsibilities could destroy her freedom and cost her the greatest love she’s ever known.

Review

I have read and reviewed every book (so far) in this wonderful series and I’ve yet to be disappointed. I’m one of those people who isn’t a fan of sports, especially baseball. However, I’ve found this story (as well as all the others in the series) easy to follow and very engaging. There’s always a lot more going on than the actual baseball in the story so I don’t feel overloaded. The characters are fun and the story drew me in from the fist word.

Ryan and Cara have an instant connection. However, they both fight it. Cara definitely fights it more than Ryan does but you can tell from his past experiences that he’s cautious. They both have great personalities full of compassion and a need to give to others. They’re both searching for something, even if they don’t realize it. The whole town of Albion Bay is friendly and supportive and had a real sense of community. I loved seeing how they rallied together for any cause.

They story lined flowed really well and Ryan and Cara transformed from great starting characters to fantastic people by the end. They endured heartache, confusion, and insecurities but also got to experience love, commitment, friendship, and support. This was a wonderful story and I look forward to the next one in the series. 5 out of 5 books!
