My life’s been no hayride either. Everyone I’ve ever loved in life has died or betrayed me. So I stay back and watch. Unless you’re one of my brothers, you get nothing from me. I don’t participate. I ride. I eat. I sleep. I work. And I repeat. That is until Ember stomps into my life with her bad attitude. She’s all piss and vinegar, and makes me want to share my bike seat for the first time.

Everything is perfect. If you didn’t count a gang, one of the biggest in the South, gunning for Ember. That, or the pure evilness that is Gabe’s ex-girlfriend. Gabe will have to put his life on the line to save the one woman he loves, but will it be enough?
One thing is constant in life. It’s about the journey, not about the destination.
I absolutely loved this book. In fact if you haven’t read book 1 (Boomtown) you should totally read that one because it is just as fantastic. I was so glued to this book that I almost missed appointments and other small things like food and sleep. Plenty of steamy scenes, lots of humor, and all rolled into a wonderful romance and an action packed suspense.
Gabe and Ember are two fantastic people that I absolutely loved reading about. Gabe is ex Army Ranger, rides a motorcycle, is fiercely protective, loyal, and oh yeah…sexy hell. Ember is wild at times and isn’t afraid to put it to you straight but she also knows when to shut up and listen. I can’t tell you how many times I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard at some antic she pulled (usually with her best friend Cheyenne). Even though Ember and Gabe often butt heads they also support each other when it matters and they have a serious connection between them. I really enjoyed their personalities. In fact all of their group are really fun.
They story flowed really well. In fact it flowed so well I couldn’t find a good place to stop. I just kept reading, desperate to find out what was going to happen next. Even though this was a suspense book, it was dark and I enjoyed the lightness the humor from the character brought to the story. I highly recommend this book and in fact the whole series. I’m dying to read the rest of the guys’ stories and can’t wait for book 3 (Max’s story). This was a fantastic story and I give it an outstanding 5 out of 5 books!
