Blog Tour: Lowdown and Lush by Selena Laurence

Lowdown and Lush Lush, #3 by Selena Laurence Mike Owens is the devil. Sexy, snarky, and as lowdown as they come, he’s one of the world’s greatest guitarists and one of Portland’s most notorious bad boys.Jenny Turner is an angel. A preacher’s daughter, she’s a good girl with a great voice and a dream to hit it big in country music. When these two opposites meet, the attraction is undeniable, but something’s stopping the bad boy from pursuing what he desires most. Can this angel handle the truth behind her devil? Or will his secrets be too Lowdown and Lush?                   I have loved the Lush boys from the beginning so it’s no surprise that I jumped on the chance to read the latest story. I’ve been anxiously waiting to get the scoop on the resident bad boy player, Mike Owens and that sweet country girl Jenny Turner. I was sucked into their story right away and could put the book down. I actually ran the battery down on my e-reader because I didn’t want to interrupt my reading to put it on the charger. Mike and Jenny have a connection from their first encounter but Mike keeps Jenny in the friend zone for quite a while in the beginning. He sexy and sweet but he’s also bossy and gruff. He hides his past which are the cause of his insecurities and less then stellar self-worth. However, Jenny’s sweet disposition, conviction, and loyalty help Mike to come out of that darkness he’s been living in. She really is an awesome person and helps that good side of Mike to shine through as well. He’s helped Jenny to come out of her shell and become more confident in herself. I absolutely adored these characters just as much Continue Reading →

This time he won’t stop until the horrors of their past are sealed not just in blood, but in death.                      This was a dark and emotional story that pulled me in from the very beginning. The characters are raw, flawed, and real. They pulled at me and intrigued me. The story had me guessing what would happen next and hope for the best for the characters. I devoured it in just a few hours. Tyler and Danielle have a shared past of a abusive foster father. He got out the day he turned 18 but she was still 3 years behind him. They lost touch for a while but meet again 4 years later. The circumstances surrounding their reconnecting and what Danielle has been through the past three years continue to unravel throughout the book but ultimately, their dealing with that horrid foster father. I liked the dark and gritty personalities of both characters. They’ve both dealt with some really messed up situations in their past and are still learning how Continue Reading →

And sometimes we’re given the second chance to pick the right path. Which path will Walker and Taylor go down? My eyes traveled up and down her body as I took in the jean shorts, cowboy boots, and light pink T-shirt. Her smile faded briefly when she looked at me before she gave me a weak smile.  I smiled as I walked up to Liza. I hadn’t felt this happy in a long time. I glanced at something hanging around her neck. When I noticed it was the ring I had given her I immediately looked down to her left hand. That’s when I saw the engagement ring. I stopped dead in my tracks. Liza let out a nervous chuckle and walked up to me and gave me a quick hug. “Hey you. It’s been what, a year?”  I couldn’t pull my eyes from the ring. Liza was engaged? I slowly looked up into her eyes and that’s when she looked down to her hand. She quickly put her hand in her pocket and smiled. “Um…how have you been, Walker?”  “You’re engaged?” Kelly Elliott is married to a wonderful Texas cowboy who has a knack for making Continue Reading →

While the three flights of stairs had been a bit of an exertion, it was more about the fact that we hadn’t been able to keep our hands off each other. At each landing, we paused to let our mouths crash together, our tongues tangling in a passionate dance. When we finally got to his apartment door, I was in his arms, my legs wrapped around his waist. He grunted as he shifted me to the side, so he could dig his key out. “Hurry,” I moaned, as I kissed a trail across his jawline to his ear. “Trying,” he muttered. Instead of putting the key in, he shoved my back against the door. His free hand delved under my top to grab my breast. “Hmm, yes,” I murmured, as my Continue Reading →

Not only is he older and intimidating, but he’s more sure of himself than any 29-year-old man has a right to be. Did I mention that he’s drop-dead gorgeous? Well, he is. And why? Is Haven’s disappearance somehow connected to his mysterious job? All I know is that things are about to get real. Welcome to Continue Reading →
