“Adam…”
Ainsley’s voice invaded my thoughts, but she wasn’t due here for a bit.
“Adam?”
The bed dipped, and I felt a small hand on my arm. It was Ainsley’s touch.
Hell, this is going to be the best dream I’ve had in ages.
“I’ll come back tomorrow. Sleep tight, Adam.”
Lips brushed my forehead and then the bed rose again. I heard footsteps.
Shit, she’s really here. I pushed off the bed and called out hoarsely, “Ainsley, wait.”
She stopped and turned. “It’s okay, Adam. I can come back later. You’re exhausted. You need your rest.”
I kept blinking the haze away. She was in white capris that hugged her slim figure, a tight blue T-shirt, and that damn pink wig.
Hot. As. Hell.
She played with the ring on her right finger. I was pretty sure that meant she was unsure of something.
Shit, I don’t want her to be unsure about staying with me.
I did the first thing that came to mind. I walked straight up to her and started kissing her. The small gasp right before my lips touched hers, told me she hadn’t expected me to come after her like this. Her body needed to take over her brain that was probably telling her that I didn’t care if she were here or not. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Her being here with me was all that I had thought about through the day.
Ainsley opened her mouth in shock, and I took advantage by pushing my tongue inside. By her rigid posture, I could tell she was still thinking with her brain. It was obvious when she let the moment take over. She became clay in my hands as her body took control. I needed her in that place, so she wouldn’t try to leave right now.
I need this. I want her.

Review

I really liked this story. There was a lot of hot sex but around that was an emotional story about two wounded people finding each other. It wasn’t just another book about sex with some dialogue thrown in. I enjoyed the characters and the book kept me interested from beginning to end.

Adam and Ainsley have this instant connection that make stories so good. There is an understanding of similar events in each other’s past. Adam was burned before and refuses to get into another relationship…until Ainsley. Not only does Ainsley have a bad ex-boyfriend who used her but also had a crappy childhood. She was looking for something outside the box so to speak and she definitely found it in Adam. I loved their personalities. They both believe in honesty and telling it like it is. I loved their banter and also the great relationships with their friends who are awesome support.

This book had me glued to my chair and finishing the story in a matter of hours. The transition between alternate POVs was smooth and the story flowed well. I really felt connected to the characters (as evidenced by my husband when I was caught scowling at my tablet at one point). I loved this story and can’t wait for the next book. 5 out of 5 palm trees!

Kristin Mayer is a wife, a proud mother, and a full-time Analyst and Import Manager. Since an early age, she has always enjoyed reading and writing. While visiting her father one weekend, he suggested that she should take up writing again. At the beginning of 2013, she decided to sit down and write it all down, but she kept it to herself. One sentence developed into two, and before she knew it, she had the makings of a novel.
Kristin tries to live life to the fullest during every moment. She loves to travel and meet new people. She holds a degree in International Business and uses it daily in her job. Kristin now adds “author” on her list of jobs, and feels very blessed and thankful.
