The books in the Storm MC series are always raw and gritty but also chock full of emotions. I always devour them and this one was no different. I loved getting glimpses of the characters from the other books but still getting a full story for the newest couple in the series. Donovan (Blade) and Layla are so perfect for each other. Ryan and Angelica have a connection the first time they meet but outside influences lead to a lot of misjudgments about each other’s character. When they finally get a chance to see each other’s true character they decide to give that connection a chance. Ryan is sweet, sexy, and determined to make it on his own even though he comes from money. Angelica also comes from money but also a loving family and knows there is more to life than that. I actually ran the battery down on my e-reader because I didn’t want to interrupt my reading to put it on the charger. Mike and Jenny have a connection from their first encounter but Mike keeps Jenny in the friend zone for quite a while in the beginning. He sexy and sweet but he’s also bossy and gruff. He hides his past which are the cause of his insecurities and less then stellar self-worth. However, Jenny’s sweet disposition, conviction, and loyalty help Mike to come out of that darkness he’s been living in. She really is an awesome person and helps that good side of Mike to shine through as well. He’s helped Jenny to come out of her shell and become more confident in herself. Colt and Lia have an instant and intense connection. They meet in an unlikely manner but Colt soon shows her how to be freer and spontaneous. They have a lot of passion and there were definitely some times where things seemed a little too intense. Colt came across as very controlling but it was in a desperate, needy way and not like he was doing it just because he could. Overall, I loved both of them and their hang-ups just made them feel more real. Their group of close friends are awesome as well. I really liked Dingo, Johnny, Sia, and Anna. Krist and Madeline are both in the music industry and have their own publicity problems but also have a fiery chemistry.
